The Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – Western Chapter is pleased to present our sixth annual gala, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, where we will be welcoming some of the most distinguished leaders from various industries who represent diversity in Canada.
Nine years ago, a group of young and eager Asian Canadian Lawyers recognized a growing need for diversity and inclusion in the western Canadian legal profession. These trailblazers founded FACL Western. Over the years, FACL Western now spans Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and partners with law firms, the judiciary, law schools, community organizations, and various industry professionals. The organization is diverse, but its goal is singular: to promote equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian Canadians in the legal profession and the wider community.
Each year, FACL Western hosts its signature event, the Diversity in the City Gala, to recognize diversity and inclusion leaders in the legal profession and wider community, celebrate ongoing efforts, and foster dialogue. This year’s Gala theme is “Strength”. Join us to celebrate the strength of our legal professionals, students, and other members of the pan-Asian community.
The past few years have been challenging but our trailblazers continued to lead, our advocates continued to speak, and our students never gave up. Our community has never been more resilient. This year, we applaud new milestones as well as our ability to persevere in difficult times.
